Relocating in different areas of the United States and in other countries gave Susan a good feel for the concerns of moving families. She returned to her family home in 1978, where she graduated Christiansburg High School. Later, Susan attended Wytheville Community College and New River Community College.
She married Montgomery County native Bill Rutledge and now has two wonderful children. Susan worked for several years in the dental field. When her children were born this enterprising mom chose to stay at home opened up a daycare and a preschool which still operate in Auburn United Methodist Church. Susan has also served as a board member of the Free Clinic, member of the Jaycees, VEFC, Chamber of Commerce, and worked with Family Services. |
